The cost of a long-distance move is typically determined by the items you are requesting to move and the move distance. At DC to NYC Movers we usually provide binding flat rate quotes based on the inventory you provide and the cost of transportation. We do thousands of moves a year and we have affordable flat rate prices for areas we frequently deliver in.  We do not base your price on weight.

DC to NYC Movers offers a boutique moving experience where we handle your items from loading to unloading. We never use outside contractors or workers we don’t know.  Everyone handling your items is employed by us. We use a variety of modern and well-maintained moving trucks to transport your belongings to the destination. Our team is trained in loading and unloading techniques to ensure that everything is handled safely and efficiently. We also have GPS tracking systems in place to monitor the progress of the move and ensure that your belongings arrive at their destination on time.

The quick answer is No. At DC to NYC movers we provide a firm fixed price based on the written inventory you provide and the distance we need to travel. Our quotes are firm fixed prices based on the information you give us.  Your price will only change if you make changes to your original inventory or move instructions.  Stay away from companies that give too good-to-be-true estimates over the phone.  Nine times out of ten they will change the price and hold your items, hostage, until you pay their inflated fee.

We offer both full-service packing and DIY packing options. For full-service packing, our team will carefully pack all of your belongings using high-quality materials to ensure their safety during transport. If you choose to pack your own belongings, we can provide you with all the necessary materials and guidance to ensure that your items are properly packed and protected. Our team will then load your packed items onto the moving truck, using the latest techniques and equipment to ensure that everything is loaded safely and securely.

We take special care to ensure the safety of all fragile and valuable items during the moving process. Our team is trained in handling and packing fragile items, and we use additional padding and protective materials as needed to ensure their safety during transport. We also offer optional insurance coverage for valuable items to provide an extra layer of protection.
